What is "Svedutism"?

When does a Vedutist become a Svedutist? Even if the dividing line is very thin, it exist!
Strengthened by my experience, I confirm that the psychological journey was arduos to be able to carry out courageously some of the canvases reproduced here. Idid not proceed with the paranoid-critical method of Breton and the surrealists.

self portrait

Reason and madness together in a precarious balance have allowed me to create a Vedutist view of a Canaletto-style Venice (already imaginary and not perfectly faithful to reality as is commonly believed) with the following operation: starting from the pictorial illusionor reality (immutable in Venice). Iarrived where I wanted to go:
to the soul of Venice today. Acting as an interpreter of the worl-wide anxiety for this unique town of mine (which art represents) I painted, not abandoning myself to fortuitos chance, as in the automatic writing of Breton; but rather, directing the parametres of view-painting towards an introspective vision. Over-turning, thus, an exterior view into aninterior one, conserving, however, the external elements.
To be able to call itself "Svedutism" it must disturb, make the spectator become uneasy, nevertheless, with "quiet" elements, such as those of architecture.
